Okay, so you’re like, done with Thanksgiving, right? Dry turkey, family fighting, light beer, dull sports competitions…been there, done that.

Bah, I suck at self promotion. Besides, Thursday said all of this better, so I’m going to quote her.

Thanksgiving is a time for togetherness, for in-laws and cousins packing into the living room and watching the game so loudly that you fear you’ll lose your mind. Between the hours of cooking, the inevitable family tensions, and the old sweatpants you spend the whole afternoon wearing after gorging on turkey, it’s easy to be be left wanting nothing more than to escape into a sexier world. So why not spend this Thanksgiving with Clancy Nacht’s A Model Boyfriend?

One of its pivotal scenes takes place at Thanksgiving, a holiday the heroine, Andy, is ill-prepared to celebrate. Despite not knowing how to cook or even owning a turkey pan, she’s determined to make the holiday special for Brandon, her gorgeous love interest. Brandon surprises her–and the reader–by being the best Thanksgiving date a woman could wish for. I won’t spoil it, but needless to say there are sexy results.

Seems like “Semi Precious Weapons” didn’t get tons of press at the time it came out. It’s probably because I’ve been hiding under a rock that’s hiding under a rug crazily scribbling and editing between quiet moments I get from my day job. Or because I feel like I spent my interesting wad on a first round of interviews and can’t imagine what anyone else would want to know and thus haven’t done tons of publicity.

Either way, seeing a great review is always a good antidote to my neuroses, so I was pretty proud and happy to read:

Semi Precious Weapons is without a doubt an original! Take the world of modeling, a sensible college student, a wild cross dresser, and watch the chaos ensue. Fast pacing, off beat characters, and a rollercoaster love story make this one truly unique. Semi Precious Weapons proves that love comes in many forms and shows up when you least expect it.

cover of I'll Be Your Man

Richard Lynch is a 50-something executive with an ex-wife he’s still hung up on and a son in grad school who only calls when he wants something. In his professional life, Richard’s successful and in control, but his personal life consists of little more than sitting down in front of the television set at seven and being in bed by nine.

Then he meets his son Kyle’s best friend and roommate, Paul Watkins, the handsome gay son of a former rockstar. Richard’s bland, predictable world is thrown into chaos by Paul’s sweetly determined pursuit of him. To some Richard’s new lease on life seems like a mid-life crisis and Paul’s infatuation seems motivated by daddy issues, but to Richard, Paul is his chance to explore a part of himself he’s kept buried all his life. With friends, family, and their pasts threatening to keep them apart, what will it take for each to become the other’s man?

I’ll Be Your Man is available now!

Oh my goodness! I mean, first of all, I got an email from Elisa Rolle that we’re part of her Gay Romance Yearly Challenge! Then I’m reading up on how we made that list and it’s because The WASPs is #19 on Amazon’s Bestseller list for Gay Romance!

All I can say is SHUT THE FRONT DOOR!

Yeah, I know it doesn’t make me J.K. Rowling, but I’m pretty damn proud.

Anyway, if you want to get in on this on the Amazon tip, man the torpedoes and links away!

(I will never tire of this cover. I love you, P.L. Nunn)

Says Tuberose:

There are both sweet moments and hot sex between Goldie and Jett, they respect and trust each other no matter what is thrown at them and always open with each other. The loveable characters with their devotion to each other and the rocker aspect make this a story I will certainly reread.

The review was 3.5 stars and mention the overabundance of dialog. I definitely hear that, and it’s something I’m giving the critical eye to in future manuscripts (rewrote a few things already.)

I appreciate honest reviews. They give me something to consider. While there are some criticisms that will always be “salt to taste,” on review I see their point. It’s all about improving.

Still, I’m happy with this book. These characters were a lot chattier than most (silly rockstars, so much to say) and I’m very pleased that someone would consider reading my stories not only once, but reread them.

Anyway, enough of my babbling, read the rest of the review.

And check out the book at Loose Id or buy for Kindle on Amazon.

Black Gold is one of Joyfully Reviewed’s February Recommended Reads.

Black Gold skillfully blends an imaginative look at the cut throat music industry with an incredibly passionate love story. This is a raw and gritty drama woven into a romance that begins with baby steps and results in a powerful commitment. While there are a few bumpy scenes that push reality, it is wonderful fun to envision Jett and Goldie challenging their version of authority and making their relationship work. Black Gold is a riveting page turner with an emotionally intense storyline, as well as powerfully erotic and tender moments. I Joyfully Recommend Black Gold as the winner.

And if you were waiting for it to be on Kindle…Black Gold is on Kindle now!

I’m slightly excited. It’s been a pretty good day.

In fact, there’s another review, but I’m going to post it later because, you know, too much at once and also I’m tired .

Samhain Queene of Dark Divas said:

Black Gold was a rocking, passionate meeting of opposites that were meant to make beautiful music together. Clancy Nacht and Thursday Euclid did an amazing job of blending the superstar pop idol with the brash, hard edged punk icon. Goldie and Jett are that perfect mix of music created by acceptance and love.

Very excited to see so many positive reviews coming through. The gorgeous cover by P.L. Nunn definitely gave the book a great boost. I still stare at it and drool.

Thanks to everyone who has read it. This is definitely a great way to start 2011. Here’s hoping that my next collaboration with Thursday Euclid, Playing with Fire –tentatively scheduled for release by Loose Id in May — is as well recieved.

It’s here, it’s finally here! Here is the book cover for my  novel, co-written with Thursday Euclid, “Black Gold.” It’s coming out on Loose Id November 23rd. Gorgeous art by P.L. Nunn.

Cover for Black Gold by Clancy Nacht and Thursday Euclid

Billy “Goldie” Goldean is the biggest pop star in the world and he’s harboring a terrible, career-killing secret: he’s gay. Even with song titles such as “Astral Glider” and “Winking Brown Eye,” few question Goldie’s squeaky clean teen heartthrob status. That is, until Jethro “Jett” Black, an infamous womanizer and underground punk icon, names him in the pages of Rolling Stone magazine as the celebrity he’d most like to fuck.

After they hook up at an industry party, Goldie’s management dumps him, Jett’s exes come back to haunt them, and even Goldie’s mother makes a public plea for him to come to his senses. Can Goldie trust his untamed new lover, or will the pressures of fame tear them apart?

And with many thanks to Random.org, we have our winnner! Aurum! Congrats!

In celebration of the release of “A Certain Pressure in the Pipes,” my m/m Erotic Steampunk novella tomorrow, June 28, 2010, I’m giving away a free copy to a random commenter on this post.

That’s all you have to do to win.

  1. Make a comment saying you’re interested
  2. Leave your email address(with spaces or those clever ways of writing it making it inconvenient for spammers)
  3. Do it by 4 p.m. CST on June 28, 2010.

Then I’ll do something magic like put the names on shredded paper in a hat or use some sort of black box randomizer to choose a winner for a free pdf.
